First, the principle is different


1, fluorescence microscope: ultraviolet light source, used to irradiate the object, so that it emits fluorescence, and then observe the shape of the object and its location under the microscope.

2, laser confocal microscopy: on the basis of fluorescence microscopy imaging, laser scanning device is installed, using ultraviolet light or visible light to excite fluorescence probes.


Second, different characteristics


1, fluorescence microscope: used to study the absorption of substances in cells, transport, distribution and positioning of chemical substances. Some substances in the cell, such as chlorophyll, can fluoresce after ultraviolet irradiation; Other substances cannot fluoresce by themselves, but can fluoresce by ultraviolet irradiation if dyed with fluorescent dyes or fluorescent antibodies.

2, confocal laser microscopy: the use of computer image processing, so as to obtain the fluorescence image of the fine structure of the cell or tissue, and at the subcellular level to observe physiological signals such as Ca2+, pH value, membrane potential and cell morphological changes.


Three, different uses


1, fluorescence microscope: fluorescence microscope is the basic tool of immunofluorescence cytochemistry. It is composed of main components such as light source, filter plate system and optical system. The fluorescent image of the specimen is observed by using a certain wavelength of light to excite the specimen to emit fluorescence, which is amplified by the objective lens and the eyepiece system.

2, laser confocal microscopy: laser scanning confocal microscopy technology has been used in cell morphological localization, three-dimensional structure recombination, dynamic change process and other studies, and provides quantitative fluorescence determination, quantitative image analysis and other practical research methods, combined with other related biotechnology, in the field of molecular cell biology such as morphology, physiology, immunology, genetics has been widely used.
